Mother’s holding arms are like the sky’s hammock.
Soft footsteps, like birds flitting from branch to branch.
The sound of gentle waves on a calm sea,
blending with the ocean breeze of coastal winds.
She lulls her child with the sea's lullaby of love.
Mother dreams of a world in harmony across the four horizons.
Her children grow wings to fly far and wide.
Across the four seas, all people are brothers and sisters.
She lulls her child with tender “oh love, oh love,”
guiding the child into peaceful sleep.
By the shore of Thanh Hải, the night waves whisper on.
In her lullaby, Mother sends her hopes into the rolling sea.
With gratitude to Heaven and Buddha for their grace,
the child’s boat rests at the harbor of distant dreams.
Yet Mother’s heart remains with the open sea,
remembering each night the sound of waves, like a cradle song.
“My child,” she says, “do not forget the sea of love—
the waves that once lulled you in your childhood days.”

Original poem:
