I’m a wandering traveler
Journeying for fun across the roads of life.
Finding sensation in tearful sorrows and joyous smiles,
in difficult and happy times,
and during great endeavours or dreams of love.
I love Life together with all its miseries,
its heart-tearing stories, its gentle melodies,
its savage wilderness or splendid monuments.
You said: “my nature’s so inconstant
Not focused about anything. No ideals.”
But who cares:
I am just an infatuated person in love,
desiring Beauty in all its shapes and forms.
I borrow the brush of Lady Ly Tao to paint,
and with the ten-thousand-melody harp to play,
I sing about the Beauty of Melancholy, of Infatuation, of Innocence
of Nobleness, Faithfulness and Bravery,
of the high mountains and wide rivers,
of human idealism, of poetry and classic literature.
I sing about the graceful form of a beautiful woman,
the vibrant rays of spring sunshine,
the gloominess of a dark, rainy day,
the grandeur of sky-high ocean waves,
the beauty of spectacular mount’n falls,
the fragility of a flower in bloom,
the miseries of those living in muddy homes,
the nostalgically haunting haziness of an enchanted dream,
the eager enthusiasm to compete in life to win.
All these I love and more, and search for.
I praise with words of encouragement and Love.
I’m willing to feel heartache by the pain in a mournful cry,
and share sighs with a young girl’s vague longings.
My soul soars with the sound of the flute playing.
I feel peaceful with the enchanted sounds of temple bells,
and with my inner muse.
With my poetr companion spirit,
I have a music instrument with ten thousand melodies,
a paint brush that can paint millions of color.
I want to be a magical artist,
using Life, its voices and images as my materials.
