verse 1:
I visit the land of cherry blossom,
watching the sun setting by the lake.
Feeling a slight chill
in a spring evening
of gently floating clouds.
Wind-song of pine trees by the quiet stream;
The color of spring in her sea-blue eyes –
to fill one's heart with verse.
I hear my soul dreaming of an Enchanted Fairyland,
so beautiful like the story of olden times.
verse 2:
Who visits the land of cherry blossom,
don't forget to follow the flowered path.
Blossoms falling gently by her side,
gracing her rosewood sandals.
I watch butterflies and flowers
then to dream of romance and love.
My heart feeling light, floating on mist,
until the dream evaporates.
I lose myself in its beauty,
until it becomes a fading memory.
verse 3:
O the color of cherry blossom, its lovely hue of that spring day.
O the color of cherry blossom, like the rosy lips of my love.
O the color of cherry blossom – how many times because of it,
had the poet-traveler stop his wandering feet to admire.
verse 4:
Who visits the land of cherry blossom,
don't forget to bring home a flower branch.
To ease my dreaming heart from longing each evening
when gazing at the clouds drifting far away…
I have returned home quite some time ago,
but my heart still in longing, in longing….
Years have passed,
yet love still lingers in my heart.
Gazing at the mist,
I see the color of her silky cheek
in drifting cherry blossoms.
